Obituary of Kathy Mcknight

Please share a memory of Kathy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathy Teresa McKnight was born on January 8th, 11967; to the Joe McKnight and Catherine Reed-McKnight in Rochester, New York. From the beginning as a baby she'd bring so much joy to the family with her beautiful smile and chunky cheeks. She attended school in the Rochester City School District eventually graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester, New York. After attending and graduating from school, Kathy was the go-getter. She worked several jobs in the nursing field. She had a heart of compassion and the personality to go alone with, which made the health and nursing a perfect fit. Kathy possessed the gift of agape love that unconditional love which naturally evolved in caring for family members and others that had nothing or very little. Kathy was a fun, loving and compassionate person. She will sorely missed by so many. If anyone knew anything about Kathy, she loved family, especially her daughter and grandchildren. Kathy was always with one of her siblings most times. She was also the family babysitter and she was known affectionally called "Auntie Kitty". When they cleanliness is next to godliness; Kathy was epitome of that statement. The family would often remark, "Kathy is next to God for sure!" Sadly she transitioned to life eternal rest on August 9thg, 2022. She was predeceased by her son, Shannon Terrell McKnight; parents father, Joe McKnight and mother Catherine Reed-McKnight; sisters Latoya McKnight, Aronda Holmes-McKnight and brother, Joel Merrell. She leaves to cherish her life and legacy and cherished loving memories; daughter, Kyesha McKnight (Andre); grandchildren I'Lyn Johnson, A'majah Jackson and A'Lajah McKnight. Kathy is also survived by her siblings; Veria McKnight of Talladega, Alabama; Cynthia McKnight, Ray McKnight (Birdie), Joseph Kretschmer, Deborah Esposito (Joe), and Victoria Johnson, all of Rochester, New York and Anquanek Merrell of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves a very dear and special childhood friend until the end, Henry Phelps AKA "Hank" including cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Until we meet again.
