Albert Lee Sturgis Jr. was born on July 3, 1987 and entered eternal rest on June 12, 2017. The son of Carlisa McCullough and Albert Lee Sturgis, Sr. was affectionately referred to as "Lil Albert" by all who knew and loved him As a young boy, Lil Albert took tremendous pride in everything he did. Whether it was the perfection of his penmanship, his love affair with the toothbrush, which he replaced every few weeks, his superb athletic abilities, and most of all, his meticulous grooming and cleanliness with regards to his appearance; Lil Albert's good looks and charismatic charm was a magnet for laughter and love. As an adolescent, Karate championship trophies adorned his family's living room and as he continued to win tournaments, he was at the cusp of Black Belt mastery. Not only was Albert a Karate champion, he was advanced in Boxing, Football, Basketball, and Baseball respectively. Albert also excelled academically. He was an avid reader and as a 5th grader, Lil Albert won the school-wide reading challenge for reading more books than any other student. His mother recalls his excitement whenever she'd buy him a new book. He was so intrigued with reading and writing that he was delighted when his parents told him to find 100 words from the dictionary and write them in sentences as punishment. Shortly thereafter, Lil Albert would present his parents with his completed work and state, "What's next?" He also exemplified a keen memory for a child his age and his parents were impressed with his ability to recollect directions to any destination after just one trip. The aforementioned attributes were cultivated throughout his formative years and at 21 years of age, Lil Albert became a father. He took great pride in bringing joy to Damarion (Dut-Dut), Ameriah, and Anecia's lives. Magical Christmas mornings, and water park excursions, (which he enjoyed just as much, if not more so than his children) were just a few sacred memories that his children will treasure. Lil Albert's personality was likened to no other. His stylish, smooth, suave-swag, was incomparable and no matter where he went, his self-defined style was on point and second to none. He began completing some of his goals and aspirations and recently earned a Commercial Driver's License to begin a career as a truck driver. He was also engaged to marry Carmeson Brockenberry, the beneficiary of his heart and he was eager to merge families and become a husband. Albert was adamant about loving Carmeson's children as his own, just as he was loved. This was a testament to the love that was mirrored in his own life. Albert's earthly life ended abruptly and by God's grace, he was able to share his final words with a hospital nurse, "Tell my Mom I love her… tell her to take care of my kids…tell my kids I love them…tell my fiancé' Carmeson I love her." If Albert loved you, he made certain that you knew it. The endearing way in which he addressed his loved ones, left an impression on their hearts and although he has entered eternal rest, his love will last forevermore. Loved ones who cleared the path for Albert were his Maternal Grandparents: Deloris J. Hill, Leroy and Marry Harrell, and Lena Beasley; Paternal Grandparents: Great-Grandmother Roberta Sturgis, and Grandmother, Francis Sturgis; Special Aunt, Veronica Johnson, and God-Sister, Karlisa Reddicks The memory of Albert Lee Sturgis Jr. will be forever cherished by his Father, Albert Lee Sturgis, Sr.; Mother & Father, Carlisa and Amos McCullough; Children Damarion (Dut-Dut) Griffin, Ameriah Sturgis, Anecia Sturgis, Zamarreya Pettiford, and Quayell Washington; Fiance', Carmeson Brockenberry; Siblings: Aundrae Wade, Brittaney McCullough, Alisha Sturgis, Alana Sturgis, and Kasia Morris; Special Neice, A'jah Wade (Bubble Gum); God-Mother, Crystal Cole and an abundance of Family and Friends whose hearts will hold him forever.
