Obituary of Queen E Ivey

Queen Ester Dolores Ivey was born on May 17, 1957 in Hardaway, Alabama to the late Johnetta Ivey and Bennie Lee Ivey, Sr. She moved to Rochester with her parents when She was around 11 or 12 years old. Honey graduated from Franklin High School. She worked for Wesley Gardens Nursing Home for over 30 years, attaining the role of a Head Dietary Supervisor. Honey's side job was Her paper route with the Democrat & Chronicle for many years. She was a sports enthusiast, with basketball and football were her favorites. I also have to mention the huge love She had for Her grandchildren. She was a loving woman, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend… many life roles. Honey stayed busy, maybe too busy. Being the youngest born, she was closer in age (to most of us), so She was like an older sister, instead of our Aunt. We all grew up together. Honey departed this life on June 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by Her parents and her son, Michael J. Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son: Kelvin A. Ivey; her sisters: Mildred Anderson and Patricia M. Sullen; her brother: Bennie Lee Ivey, Jr; 9 grandchildren; a long time faithful friend: Sandra Hamilton (Pam); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
