Mr. Lavern Brown was born on August 3, 1961 to Manny Brown Sr. and the late Eunice Watson - Brown in Williamsburgh County, South Carolina. He is the second oldest of 5 children. As a young child, Lavern with his parents, brothers and sister moved to Rochester, NY. Lavern graduated from Franklin Highschool. He later began working HP Neun where he was employed for 25 years. In 2012 Lavern started working at the Rochester City School District simultaneously as a custodian and a crossing guard until until he was called home. Lavern lived his entire adult life with his younger brother Alfred Brown. The two frequently traveled throughout the US usually by car. Their favorite stops were New York City, South Carolina and Florida. Lavern always the driver and only used road maps and his memory to go from city to city. It was Lavern's free spirit, smile and his constant greetings like, "Hey there, How you doin?," that attracted so many friends. He was a music lover of all genres, but mostly old school R&B and Hip- Hop. You could always find him and Alfred in the front row at most concerts. Lavern's favorite pastime was talking football. He was a Buffalo Bills fan and an enthusiast. He took pride in knowing the team's stats and the history of all the players. He is predeceased by his mother Eunice Brown. Lavern passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He leaves to cherish his memories: his father Manny Brown Sr. his only beloved sister Sarina "Sandie" (Oswald) Brown - Maynard, his three brothers: Manning Jr. (Geraldine), Alfred and Aaron Brown; five nieces: Wakisha Bailey, Marketta Brown, Denika Brown, Charise Brown and Chelsea Maynard ; great niece: Rylin Brown and a very special friend Eileen Green of Rochester, NY and a host of relatives and friends.
