Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mommy, Our minds knows that you are gone, but our hearts will never accept it. We will miss you so much…You are reunited with your babies Tiffany and Kristie now!!! Mary Hazel Nesmith was born Oct 1, 1949 in Maxton, North Carolina to the late Henry and Charity Morrison, Sr. Fondly, known as Hazel, she and her family moved to Rochester, NY in 1957. Hazel attended School #4 George Mather Forbes and Monroe High School. Hazel was raised a Seven Day Adventist and later in life lived her life as a Christian. Hazel was a very creative person; she enjoyed drawing, loved musical arts, gifted in playing the piano and took pleasure in cooking for her family. She enjoyed watching her soaps and recapping with her mother. Hazel was loved by so many and she never treated anyone like a stranger. Hazel embraced the young children that she had an opportunity to meet and mentor. One of Hazel's unique gifts was that she always made you feel welcomed, her home was a "safe haven" for many and you could talk to her about anything. Grandma was a loving sweet, giving and caring person who cared for many; she loved to watch over her great-grandchildren. Grandma certainly had an eye for fashion, despite of her flaws she was a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN inside and out, who would light a room with her infectious smile. Our Unique Grandma/Great-grandma will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Recently, Hazel became ill and was admitted to Unity Hospital and then spent her last days of comfort care at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. While at both facilities she received amazing care and the family will be forever grateful. She received visits from family members, friends and several members of the surrounding area church clergies praying on her behalf, whom the family thanks for their kind words of encouragement and prayer. Mary Hazel departed this life on Thursday, June 28, 2018. She is predeceased by; her parents, Henry and Charity Morrison Sr.; brother, Henry Morrison, Jr.; 2 daughters, Tiffany Nesmith-LaFave, Kristie Nesmith. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory: 1 daughter, Tina (Derrick) Traylor, 3 sons, Ronnell (Mercedes) Morrison-Nesmith, Corey and Gregory Nesmith of Rochester, NY; 17 grandchildren, Derrick Jr, Kashaye, Dajia, Rickia, Trinity, Quinell, Coraun, Summer, Stoney, Tyree, Cornelius, Mercedes, Thomas, Leo, Andrew, Daryl, and 20 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Carolyn Morrison, Evelyn (Calvin) Lewis, Patricia (Mark) Douglas, Pamdora Dillard; 1 brother, Herman (Pamela) Morrison all of Rochester, NY; sister in law, Tracey Morrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.»(Do not delete this line.
