Obituary of Willie Mae Williams
Please share a memory of Willie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our dearest Momma and Grandma, Willie Mae Williams, was born On October 13, 1934 in Canton, Mississippi. She was the second oldest daughter of twelve children born to Johnny Johnson and Daisy Bass Johnson. She accepted Christ at a very early age and continued to serve God until he called her home to be with Him and her family she dearly missed.
Momma cherished her family and was always the life of the party. She was known as the "Dancing Machine" and could swing with the best of them! When she stood up and danced everybody smiled and joined in, she was truly loved by so many.
There are many things in life we cannot understand but we must trust God's judgement and be guided by His hand; On Monday March 6, 2017, God reached out his hand and we take solace in knowing that Momma is in God's embrace now. We praise God for the precious years we had with her and will always keep her in our hearts. It's time for her to rest eternally with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father Johnny Johnson, mother Daisy Bass Johnson, brother's James Johnson, Clyde Johnson, sister's Anniece Tolliver, Doris Clark, and Daisy Darby.
Cherished memories of our beloved Willie Mae Williams will forever live on in the hearts of her family; six sons, Fred Williams, RL (Lisa) Williams, Marvin Williams, Darryl Hawkins, Rodney Hawkins and Ralph (Robin) Hawkins; four daughters, Elise Pickett, Mary (Michael) Snyder, Patricia Lights and Margaret Williams; four brothers, Joseph Johnson, Lee Earl Johnson, Leon Johnson, Melvin Johnson; two sisters Bennie Luckett and Glorysteen Simmons; hundreds of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and all her friends she embraced as her family.
