Obituary of Donell McGuire
Please share a memory of Donell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donell "Ladon" McGuire was born on April 23, 1960, in Duncan, Mississippi to the late Donell McGuire and Dorothy Jones.
Ladon was a personable, friendly, family-oriented man who opened his heart to everyone. He was free-hearted. Ladon didn't have much, but he freely gave all he had to anyone in need. He was self-less and took on his role, as the eldest son, with pride. He took care of others, without hesitation. He would do anything for anybody. His heart was big and you could count on him to be there if you needed him.
Ladon made everyone feel welcome. He loved to talk, laugh, and have a good time. Ladon enjoyed cooking and sharing a good meal. He also loved cars, watching classic television shows, and drawing.
Ladon will be affectionately remembered for his larger than life personality. He commanded an audience with his sense of humor and his soothing baritone voice. He didn't engage in self-pity; he made the most of every situation. He carried himself with dignity and took pride in cleanliness and neatness.
In 2016, Ladon accepted Jesus Christ, as his Lord and Savior. He was a proud member of Faith, Hope, and Charity Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop John Crocker, D. Min., Senior Pastor.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Dorothy "Dot" Jones, his step-father George Jones Jr., his children Ellery, Terrence, Samona, Salina, Eddie, Deveney, Danielle, Brionna, and Mariah, his grandchildren Sharquan, Messiah, Prestige, Liasia, Rosemary, Chavo, Lilly, New New, America, Fresh, Raymond, Dominique, Sta'Asia, Akira, Jaiyana, Essence, Shaunteasia, Mariano, Jy'Lyese, and Ilatia, his siblings Paul, Richard, Melissa, Carla, and Katrina, his life-long friends Ronnie Green and Larry Turner, his special companion Heather, and a host of relatives and friends.
