Bernetha was born the second eldest child of Lucille and John Bradley. She was born on February 28, 1945 in Salters, South Carolina., where she attended Blakely High School. In 1961, Bernetha was given an employment opportunity as a nanny in Long Island, NY. She later relocated to Rochester, NY in care of her dear Aunt Rena and Uncle David Paisley. While employed at Rochester General Hospital, she met her late husband, James D. Jones. While spending time together they traveled New York State, the Washington, D. C. area as well as South Carolina many times. During the 1960's and 1970's they would reside in New York, complimenting various employment opportunities such as; care management, social work and textile specialist for several years. Upon returning to Rochester, Bernetha began her career as a certified nursing assistant. She would find employment with many nursing homes before eventually acquiring a position with Highland Hospital from which she began her early retirement. Although she retired early, she was such a free spirit that she found motivation serving and assisting with meals while being a member of Northside Church of Christ. Some years later Bernetha became ill where she had to top work completely. This is when she became a resident of the Shire at Culverton and the NewRoc Rehabilitation Home before her final calling. She will be lovingly remembered by her children and all who knew her. Bernetha leaves to mourn; one son James (Sinder) Smith; three daughters, Mary (Dale) Webb, Donna L. Smith, (predeceased) Janice Bradley. Thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren. Ten Siblings; five sisters,; Beatrice Bradley, Virginia (Paul) Letman, Parthenia Christian (predeceased) Edith and Helen Bradley.
