Obituary of Lance Bridges

Lance Bernard Bridges was born in Rochester, N.Y on October 29, 1961 from the union of Burlin & Bettye Bridges. Lance was the fourth son of seven brothers. Lance graduated from East High School in Rochester, N.Y. where he was an excellent basketball player taking his team to the Section V championship title for two consecutive years. Lance continued his education by receiving a two-year degree from Canisius College and a bachelor's degree in Sociology at The College at Brockport, State University of New York. Lance worked for the City of Rochester for several years among other jobs throughout his life. Lance enjoyed spending time with his family, playing sports, listening to music, playing cards and reading different types of literary books. Lance often came up with ideas that he would share with anyone that was around him. His favorite saying was "Look at me, look, look". He wanted to make sure that he had your undivided attention. Lance was an awesome brother and dedicated to his family. He was a loving father, uncle, brother, cousin, friend and advisor to many. Lance was called to rest on January 8, 2018. He is preceded in death by his mother: Bettye Jo Bridges and his brother: Kevin Bridges. He leaves to cherish his memories: His father: Burlin Bridges of Rochester, N.Y., 5 brothers: Michael (Elaine) Bridges, Burlin Bridges, Jr., Darryl (Diane) Bridges all of Rochester, N.Y., Steven (Teewanda) Bridges of Atlanta, GA., Jimmie Bridges of San Diego, CA., daughters: Mahogany Scott-Bridges, Modesty Scott-Bridges and Myasia Scott-Bridges of Rochester, N.Y.; 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
