Obituary of Michael Alonzo Sheppard

Michael Alonzo Sheppard was born on December 10, 1959 in southeast Washington, D. C. to the union Ernest and Dorothy Sheppard. His father was a professional boxer so the family was often transitional moving to various metropolitan areas. They lived in Newark, New Jersey for most of his early years, but his father's professional career lead to them relocating to such cities as East Orange, New Jersey, Detroit, Michigan, Baltimore, Maryland and finally relocating to Rochester, New York. He attended to the Rochester City School District graduating from Franklin High School. He worked several jobs including Genesee Brewery, Clean Brite, Kodak and Xerox. His greatest and proudestt accomplishment however was the birth of his two children, KayKay and Michael. Michael loved sports mainly football and basketball and he coached the Pop Warner Football Team for the Baden Street Settlement House for several years. He also enjoyed baseball, chess, checker and playing cards. Michael confessed Christ at an early age and continued his faith with his God. Michael transitioned this life peacefully in his residence on Monday, December 18th, and he leaves to cherish and perpetuate his legacy; a son, Michael Sheppard; a daughter, KayKay Sheppard; three (3) grandchildren, Janai and Nejari Sheppard adn Ashanti Carter; and one brother, Kenneth E. Sheppard; including a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family members.
