Obituary of Leonilda Santiago-Alvarado

On Friday, May 19, 2023, Leonilda Santiago Alvarado, fondly known as "Nilda" was called home at the age of 79 to be with the Lord. The world has lost a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, partner and friend. Nilda was born in Villalba, Puerto Rico on September 30, 1943 to the late Teodoro Santiago and Margarita Alvarado. She graduated high school in Villalba, Puerto Rico. After completing her high school education, Nilda worked at many jobs in her hometown. Nilda was a great cook and loved preparing food for her family and friends. Nilda loved walking, cleaning, and praying. She loved going to church. Nilda loved listening to music and watching TV (Spanish stations) in her spare time. Nilda had a beautiful soul and was soft spoken. She was family oriented and loved her family very much, there was nothing she would not do for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was hard working, compassionate towards everyone, her kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Nilda is predeceased by her partner Jose J. Rivera "Quino", parents Teodoro and Margarita, daughter Agneris "Tata", siblings Cruz, Pedro, and Teodoro. Nilda leaves to cherish in her memory her children Nydia Bonilla (Edgar), Angel (Laura) Jose "Gaby" (Tammy), Sandra (William), and Josue "Chely" (Nakesha). Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
